We have been travel blogging for the past 16 years, and Boracay is one of our most-visited islands. We go there every year! The result is this list: ten properties we’ve personally stayed in, ranging from budget hostels like Chillax to full-on luxury resorts.
We’ll discuss them one by one in this article, from the cheapest to the most expensive. Disclaimer, though:
- What you’re about to read is based entirely on our own personal stays, some of which happened two or three years ago. We’re rating our experience at the time we were there — not the resort as it necessarily exists today.
- Keep in mind also that Boracay’s hospitality scene moves fast. Management changes. Renovations happen. The property that wowed us might be under new ownership now, and the room that felt neglected during our visit might have been refurbished since.
Take everything with that in mind, and always do a quick check on recent reviews before you book.
Speaking of booking, all these resorts are available on Agoda. If you find this post helpful, you can support us by booking with Agoda and using our promo code, so you can also get up to P6000 discount.
You can visit www.thepoortraveler.net/agoda to automatically redeem the discount, or if you prefer using the Agoda mobile app, just tap on the DEALS button. Then select a hotel and room, and upon check out, you need to enter AGODATPT again to apply the discount. Yes, you’ll have to enter it twice.
With that said, here’s every place we’ve stayed — from the cheapest to the priciest — and exactly what we thought.

1. Chillax Boracay (Diniwid)
Did you know that you can find a place to stay in Boracay for around P500 per night? Yes, it’s possible.
This is Chillax Boracay, one of the most interesting budget accommodations in the island. What sets it apart immediately is its concept: the entire building is constructed from upcycled shipping containers, stacked in a pyramid-ish manner. So yes, that means A LOT of stairs, which makes it not ideal for travelers with mobility issues.
There’s a rooftop pool (also made from a container, naturally) and a communal area where you can chill and meet fellow travelers. Free kitchen use is one of the biggest draws, letting budget-conscious travelers prepare their own meals and save significantly on food costs.
But here’s the catch: it’s tucked along Diniwid Beach Road in a quieter, less developed part of the island. Yes, the location puts you away from the bustle of the main strip, but it also means it’s a considerable distance from D’Mall and the lively White Beach area, which means additional tricycle costs if you want to head to the busier parts of the island.
Still, if you want access to any beach, the hostel is very close to Diniwid Beach, a fantastic little nook which is more laidback and definitely less crowded. It is on this beach that you’ll find Dinibeach Bar and Restaurant, which is one of the better food spots in Boracay.
Another thing I kind of dislike was the shower and toilet setup. They were clean, but the dorm assigned to me only had one toilet and one shower. It’s not the usual dorm-type bathroom setup with multiple cubicles. But if you can get past that, it’s good value for money, especially for solo travelers.
When I stayed, I paid P712 because it was still peak season, but if you travel in the off-peak season and you book with Agoda and apply the discounts, you can get a dorm bed for around P500.
It’s not all dormitories, though. They have private rooms, too. If you’re a barkada or family, you can book a family room, which is good for four, for almost P1900 or P475 per person.

CHILLAX BORACAY
Pros
- Value for money
- Unique container-style accommodations with great character
- Excellent budget value with free kitchen use and communal areas
- Rooftop pool and lounge area
- Social, friendly atmosphere ideal for solo travelers
Cons
- Far from White Beach and D’Mall; frequent tricycle rides add up
- Some reported maintenance issues (broken lockers, limited room amenities)
- Not suitable for seniors or guests with mobility concerns due to steep stairs
- Not ideal restroom setup
Rating: 6/10 (Dorm only)
2. Happiness Hostel Boracay (Bulabog Beach)
If Chillax is the laid-back flashpacker option, Happiness Hostel is Boracay’s answer to the modern party hostel — complete with an outdoor swimming pool, café and restaurant, on-site skate park, yoga classes, tattoo shop, and nightly events. It lives up to its name.
It looks pretty unassuming from the outside, but as soon as you enter, you’ll be greeted by a well-designed pastel-colored tropical-themed pool area. It’s not beachfront, but you can easily access White Beach and Bulabog Beach from here, though it’s much closer to the latter. D’Mall is also just a short walk from here, so you’re close to plenty of food spots and bars. And they have their own on-site, too!
The restaurant serves a wide-ranging menu that includes Middle Eastern and local grill options, with kosher and vegetarian menus available, an impressive spread for a hostel. The weekly lineup of events is a genuine highlight: guests enjoy happy hour cocktails, movie nights, and Sunday Funday.
A dorm bed here costs around P830 per night. But at my age, I like my privacy, so I booked a standard private room, which now costs around P2470 on Klook. Unlike the other properties on this list, we booked this one on Klook.
They also have a room that can accommodate up to four guests, which is perfect for barkadas. It costs only around P3500 per night.
You can still get it at a lower rate. If you prefer booking with Klook, you can visit www.thepoortraveler.net/klook to automatically redeem 5% OFF maximum of P800! Or use our promo code THEPOORTRAVELERKLOOK!

I really had a wonderful time at Happiness Hostel, but it was kind of ruined by one incident. One Thursday afternoon, when I got back to the hostel after exploring, I was greeted by an empty, fully turned-over room and my stuff missing.
The thing was: I was booked until Friday. I don’t know if it was a mistake in their records or a miscommunication between staff, but yes, they removed my things from the room. I was upset, of course. But when they realized their mistake, they completely owned up to it. They admitted they were wrong, and the staff member and even the owner apologized profusely, which I accepted and appreciated.
HAPPINESS HOSTEL BORACAY
Pros
- Fantastic location near Station 2 and within walking distance of the beach
- Loads of amenities and activities for a hostel (pool, skate park, yoga, tattoo studio)
- Great food and a fun bar scene
- Warm, welcoming staff and a social atmosphere
Cons
- Party hostel vibe means it’s not ideal for light sleepers or those seeking quiet
- Some guests have reported occasional bathroom maintenance issues
- Adults-only (18+), strict policy on guests
- Music plays throughout the day, which can be too much for some
Rating: 8/10
I would’ve given it a 9 or even a 9.5 if it weren’t for that room-turnover incident. That was the only bad thing about my stay here at Happiness.
3. Villa D’enghien (Inland)
Villa D’enghien is a modest, no-frills guesthouse. To be honest, it looks like an annex of a private home. And it is. It stands within a gated complex next to a home, which is probably where the owners still stay.
Let me tell you this early that we loved our stay here because it gives great value for money. But it is not for everyone, primarily because of the location. While it is close to D’Mall, probably within 500 meters, it is tucked in an uphill area on the other side of the main road. It is still very accessible, but if you like walking, you’ll find yourself climbing a somewhat steep road every time you’re going back, so it’s not for those traveling with seniors or mobility issues. Other than that, it’s great. It gives you quiet but is still close to where the action is.
We booked their Comfort Studio Room, which is good for two. But what we really appreciated, it was equipped with a kitchen complete with cooking ware, so yes, you can cook here if you want to save on food, or you simply prefer preparing your own meals.
You can get the same room for around P1600 on Agoda, without breakfast.
If you’re a group of four (say, you’re a family or a barkada), they also have a family room with two double beds for P2800 a night or P700 per person, with breakfast. We haven’t tried the family room, so we’re not sure if it also has a kitchen, but the Comfort Studio does.

So yes, its uphill location can be a minor challenge for certain sectors. But for travelers who simply want a clean, affordable, and centrally located base to explore Boracay, Villa D’Enghien is a solid pick that’s easy to overlook among the flashier options.
VILLA D’ENGHIEN
Pros
- Value for money given proximity to D’Mall and White Beach
- Quiet atmosphere despite being close to the action
- Smooth check-in process
- Kitchen
Cons
- Uphill location
- Within a residential complex with off-limits spaces
- No pool and limited amenities
- Limited dining options on-site
Rating: 7/10
4. Belmont Hotel Boracay (Newcoast)
Located within Boracay Newcoast, a master-planned community on the island’s northeastern shores, Belmont Hotel Boracay is a four-star property designed for travelers seeking comfort and calm away from the bustling crowd. With 442 rooms spread across three clusters, it’s a sizeable hotel with a very complete set of amenities: a swimming pool, fitness center, Aqua Spa for massages and body treatments, the Belmont Café for all-day dining, and a Newcoast Beach Bar serving cocktails and light bites right at the beachfront.
The tradeoff is location. Belmont is secluded and peaceful, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway — but it is 15-20 minutes away from the main beach and D’Mall, so exploring requires planning. To make up for it, the hotel provides a free scheduled shuttle service to D’Mall throughout the day, which helps offset the inconvenience considerably. But service here is excellent, and it has its own private beachfront facing Lapuz Lapuz Beach, far less crowded than the main White Beach strip.
If you want to spend your nights away from the crowd or you’re celebrating a special occasion, it is a solid choice.
A room here can set you back around P2000 per night in off-peak season, which is a great price considering the room quality and the service.

BELMONT HOTEL BORACAY
Pros
- Peaceful atmosphere away from the crowd
- Private beach exclusive to hotel guests
- Excellent breakfast buffet and attentive service
- Free shuttle service to D’Mall/Station 2
Cons
- Far from White Beach — requires shuttle or transport for most activities
- Shuttle can be full during peak hours, causing waits
- Limited dining and shopping options in the vicinity
Rating: 8/10
5. Azalea Hotels and Residences Boracay (Station 2)
Whenever I travel to Boracay with my family, this is where we stay for many reasons. First, Azalea Hotels and Residences is located at Station 2 along the main road, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and D’Mall.
Second, the rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with the usual full-service hotel staples like flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, and hot-and-cold shower. And these are relatively affordable too.
Like most hotels, they have the standard rooms for two, which normally costs around P3500 per night. And that already includes buffet breakfast.
The policy on extra person is not unreasonable, either. If you add only P500, you’ll be allowed an extra person. So each person will only need to shell out around P1325 per night, inclusive of breakfast.
But most importantly, aside from the standard rooms, Azalea is well-suited for families and groups because of its apartment-style setup. Suites come with functional kitchenettes for light cooking, living areas, and sleeping spaces that can comfortably accommodate larger groups without needing to book multiple rooms.
When the sofa bed is used, a one-bedroom apartment can accommodate up to four adults. Each guest needs to pay only P1390 per night.
A two-bedroom apartment can accommodate up to six guests. That’s only P1219 per pax. And if you’re a group of eight, there’s also an available three-bedroom suite.

Again, all these rates are inclusive of buffet breakfast for every occupant, served at Kuya J’s, which is the on-site restaurant. The property also has a rooftop pool, which is large enough for adults and children, with a shallow wading section and deck chairs.
Overall, it’s a mid-range, practical property. It’s not glamorous, but really ideal for families who want space and convenience without splurging on a resort.
AZALEA HOTELS AND RESIDENCES BORACAY
Pros
- Prime location at Station 2, walking distance from the beach and D’Mall
- Apartment-style rooms with kitchenette — great for families and groups
- Rooftop pool with a children’s wading area
- Good value for money, especially for multiple guests sharing a unit
Cons
- Not directly beachfront — about a 5-minute walk to the sand
- Rooms are along the main road and can be noisy
- Some guests have noted aging room interiors and inconsistent housekeeping
- Restaurant quality and ambiance have received mixed feedback
Rating: 9/10
6. Henann Park Resort (Station 2)
The Henann Group has multiple properties throughout Boracay, but Henann Park Resort is the newest addition to the lineup. It opened with 232 premium guest rooms, some of which are Henann’s signature direct-to-pool-access rooms.
It has an on-site restaurant called Orchard Café, but it’s also surrounded by a lot of dining options. It’s situated right in Station 2, putting guests within steps of the beach and food establishments. But despite being in the middle of all the activity, when you’re inside the resort complex, it still feels very calm and quiet.
As the newest among the three Henann properties we tried, Henann Park offers the freshest facilities. We stayed at one of their cheapest rooms, called Deluxe. These days, it costs around P4400 inclusive of breakfast.
It’s a strong choice for first-timers to Boracay who want to be right in the thick of it, or for those who prefer easy walking access to everything the island has to offer.
But if you’re booking with Henann properties, remember that most (if not all) of their bookings are non-refundable. And in most cases, modifications and cancellations are not allowed. A deposit of P2000 per room per night is required upon check-in. And you must also bring the same credit card that you used to book.
✅ CHECK RATES & AVAILABILITY HERE!
They are also notorious for strict policies that I see implemented more at hostels than full-service hotels. For example, outside food (cooked meals) is not allowed inside the rooms. And visitors are not allowed in the rooms, only registered guests. And I think these rules apply to all Henann properties. Well, at least to the three Henann resorts we have stayed in.
To be honest, personally, we have no issues with these rules. We always bring our credit cards when booking. We don’t really bring in outside food as we don’t like our room smelling like lunch. And we don’t like the idea of other people in our room. BUT I know these things matter to a lot of our friends (and other people) so just keep these policies in mind before you book.
HENANN PARK RESORT
Pros
- Best location among the Henann properties — right in the heart of Station 2
- Modern, well-maintained rooms with the Henann standard of cleanliness
- Direct pool access rooms available
- Excellent, proactive service
Cons
- Not directly beachfront
- The central location means more ambient noise from the busy street
- Prices are higher than similar mid-range options nearby
- Often non-refundable, non-cancellable, non-rebookable
- Strict policies on outside food and visitors
Rating: 7/10
7. Henann Garden Resort (Station 2)
Henann Garden Resort is the grand old sibling of the Henann family in Boracay. It houses 273 guest rooms, set within beautifully landscaped grounds and featuring the most swimming pools on the island, with four separate pools in total. The resort also has the Garden Café (an alfresco restaurant) and a modern fitness center.
It is also located in Station 2, not too far from Henann Park and Azalea Hotel. So everything I said about the central location of Henann Park also applies to Henann Garden, except it’s much closer to White Beach. In fact, it even has a direct private access to the beachfront.
The rooms themselves are the usual Henann standard: comfortable and generous in size, though some show their age with minor wear.
If you book on Agoda, prepare to shell out around P4600 per night in the off-peak season.

HENANN GARDEN RESORT
Pros
- Four swimming pools and lush gardens
- Good value for money given the scale of facilities
- Private beachfront access with sun loungers available
- Consistently friendly and attentive staff
Cons
- Not directly beachfront
- Some facilities show their age
- Often non-refundable, non-cancellable, non-rebookable
- Strict policies on outside food and visitors
Rating: 7/10
8. Henann Crystal Sands Resort (Station 2)
Among the three Henann resorts on this list, Henann Crystal Sands is probably the best one, or at the very least, the most photogenic, mainly because it is fully beachfront. We had the most fun here! It best delivers the classic Boracay resort experience.
It has fewer rooms (with only 188), but it has two ground-level pools and an upper deck sky pool that opens out directly onto White Beach. The sky pool is the showstopper. Built around a sunken bar, it’s the perfect vantage point for watching Boracay’s famous sunsets and the people walking past. It was such a great view!
With the beach right at your doorstep and D’Mall just steps away, it’s hard to find fault with the location.
Our stay here was part of my birthday trip, and I really made sure we’d secure a room here because, shallow as it sounds now, at the time, all I wanted was to watch the Boracay sunset from a swimming pool. Hahaha!
Expectedly, a stay here comes with a price tag much higher than its non-beachfront counterparts. The same deluxe room that we booked at other Henann properties costs almost P7000 a night here (around P2600 more expensive), inclusive of breakfast.
✅ CHECK RATES & AVAILABILITY HERE!
But of course, the same strict policies on credit cards, refunds, and cancellations apply. So do the restrictions on outside food and visitors.
HENANN CRYSTAL SANDS RESORT
Pros
- True beachfront location right on White Beach, Station 2
- Stunning sky pool and sunken bar with iconic sunset views
- Direct pool access rooms available
- Excellent location — steps to D’Mall and the beach
Cons
- Rooms are smaller compared to its sibling properties
- Being beachfront means it can be noisier
- More expensive than other Henann resorts
- Often non-refundable, non-cancellable, non-rebookable
- Strict policies on outside food and visitors
Rating: 8/10
9. The Lind Boracay (Station 1)
The Lind is a lifestyle beachfront resort at the northern end of Station 1 — a part of White Beach known for its wide, uncrowded shores and its concentration of Boracay’s finest, more expensive luxury properties. The property blends contemporary design with the natural beauty of the island, and it carries itself with a quiet confidence that sets it apart from other commercial resorts down the beach.
It has 118 elegantly appointed rooms with balconies offering views of the beach, pool, or gardens, and guests have access to lap pools, a jacuzzi, and a gym. Dining options include Tartine for all-day meals and Crust for Mediterranean fare. But the main highlight here is the rooftop infinity pool, best-known for its sweeping views of the ocean over swaying coconut trees.
The resort is at the end of the beach stretch, so it’s about a 20-minute walk to Station 2, though a hotel shuttle is available. And it’s on White Beach. so almost every popular attraction is available, even when it’s on the far end.
A standard room here is spacious, has two double beds and the usual fixtures, and is equipped with a squeaky clean toilet and bath. But it will set you back around P9900 per night. We actually stayed here for much less because they were still offering the pandemic rate at the time.
✅ CHECK RATES & AVAILABILITY HERE!
But yeah, if you want peace and luxury without straying too far from the center of the action, The Lind has all that.
THE LIND BORACAY
Pros
- Stunning beachfront location on Station 1’s quietest and most beautiful stretch
- Iconic rooftop infinity pool with breathtaking ocean views
- Beautifully designed rooms with spacious balconies
- World-class spa, Kid’s Club, and diverse dining options
Cons
- Far from D’Mall and Station 2 — requires shuttle for most shopping and dining
- Limited budget-friendly restaurants and stores in the immediate vicinity
- Premium pricing across rooms, food, and beverages
- Some guests noted slow room service and occasional inconsistencies
Rating: 9/10
10. Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay (Station Zero)
Way past Station 1 and Diniwid Beach lies another cove called Punta Bunga Beach, but is now being nicknamed Station Zero. This is not Boracay as you usually see on vlogs or postcards. It’s quieter, more private, and more deliberately luxurious. And along this stretch, you’ll find a number of high-end resorts. One of them is Crimson Resort and Spa.
The resort commands a 3,000-square-meter stretch of secluded white sand beach with crystal-clear waters. Each of the 192 rooms and villas is well-lit and has Filipino-inspired accents like weave and shell patterns woven into the design. The bathrooms deserve special mention: expansive, with double vanities, a walk-in shower, bidet, and a freestanding soaking tub.
World-class amenities include a breathtaking infinity pool, the Aum Spa for rejuvenating therapies, and Crimzone, a fully-staffed indoor and outdoor kids-only play area. There are elevators everywhere, too!
Three restaurants round out the offering, with Saffron Café serving impressive international buffets featuring interactive show kitchens. And all of them had high chairs for babies, which showed their thoughtfulness. On our most recent visit, we were traveling with friends who had a baby, so we noticed. We also fell in love with the cheesy ensaymada at the breakfast buffet.
But unsurprisingly, because it’s detached from White Beach, it’s not the most accessible. There are free shuttles to D’Mall, but they are few and far between, so we still ended up hailing an e-trike most of the time. And although we appreciated the seclusion of its beach, it is strewn with sand that is not as white or as powdery as that on White Beach. The service was also excellent, although we also had an incident here wherein the staff expected us to check out on a certain day when it wasn’t our time to go yet.
Interested? Prepare to shell out almost P11,000 a night, at the minimum. So always use our Agoda promo code AGODATPT for 8-10% OFF. This code is especially useful for expensive resorts like this.
✅ CHECK RATES & AVAILABILITY HERE!
It is the most expensive property on this list, but we always save up to afford staying here because it is — dare we say it — worth it.
CRIMSON RESORT & SPA BORACAY
Pros
- Exclusive Station Zero location with a private beach
- Gorgeous infinity pool with sea views
- Luxuriously appointed rooms with outstanding bathroom facilities
- Exceptional breakfast and diverse dining options
- Thoughtful welcome gifts and inclusions
Cons
- Most expensive property on this list
- Quite far from White Beach, D’Mall, and Station 2
- Shuttle service is available but infrequent
