“NOT WORTH IT.”

That was my first thought when I saw the price of a Disney cruise.

Then I found out something that made me question it even more. This cruise doesn’t stop anywhere. It sails out of Singapore, doesn’t dock in Malaysia, Thailand, or any other country, and then heads straight back to Singapore.

But we’d been looking forward to our very first Disney cruise for a long time, so we decided to book it anyway and see what all the hype was about. So, yes, we recently sailed aboard the Disney Adventure, the newest and largest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. It’s currently homeported in Singapore, making it Disney’s first-ever homeport in Asia.

This was also our very first Disney cruise, so everything felt new to us.

Unlike Royal Caribbean, which we’ve sailed several times before, Disney Cruises have their own culture, traditions, and little quirks that are different from other cruise lines. And honestly, discovering all of that was part of the fun.

Now, we won’t pretend to be Disney Cruise experts. We can’t promise that we know every little thing about Disney cruising. But in this article, we’ll share everything we learned, everything we experienced, and all the tips we picked up along the way.

So, how much does a Disney cruise actually cost? What’s onboard? And after experiencing it ourselves…is it really worth it?

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

DISNEY ADVENTURE ROUTE & SCHEDULES

The first thing you need to know about Disney Adventure’s Singapore sailings is that, at least as of this writing, there are no ports of call.

It’s what’s known as a “cruise to nowhere.” That means you won’t be stopping at any destination along the way. The ship leaves Singapore and spends the entire voyage at sea before returning to Singapore.

In other words, every single day is a sea day. The ship itself is the destination.

Your only decision is how many nights you want to sail:

3-Night Roundtrip Sailings
4-Night Roundtrip Sailings

Both are back-to-back at Marina Bay Cruise Centre, so if you have more time, you could technically combine a 3-night and a 4-night sailing into a longer trip.

Since our goal was to find out the least amount you could spend on a Disney cruise, we chose the 3-night sailing and booked the lowest-priced stateroom available.

But before we get into the cost, let’s first talk about the different types of staterooms.

DISNEY ADVENTURE CABIN ROOM TYPES

The Disney Adventure has 2,111 staterooms spread across Decks 5–13 and 15–18, split into four main categories:

Inside Stateroom

The most budget-friendly option, located in the interior of the ship. There are three options: two without windows and one with porthole window with a view of the ships’s Disney Discovery Reef zone.

Oceanview Stateroom

Comes with a real porthole or window offering views of the sea.

Verandah Stateroom

Includes a private balcony — some overlook themed districts like Discovery Reef and Imagination Garden instead of open ocean, so double-check the view type when booking.

Each stateroom category — Inside, Oceanview, and Verandah — comes in multiple configurations: Regular and Deluxe.

The Deluxe staterooms are slightly larger and, of course, slightly more expensive. In fact, most of the rooms on the ship are Deluxe.

The Regular, or Non-Deluxe, staterooms are built beside indented sections of the hallway. Because of that, part of the room’s footprint is taken up by the corridor, so instead of a full rectangular layout like the Deluxe rooms, you get a smaller space with less floor area. The bathroom is smaller, too. But it’s not just the size that’s different. The layout is different as well.

Based on what we’ve seen, the Deluxe staterooms usually come with the more traditional cruise ship layout, with a queen bed that can be split into two twin beds.

The NON-Deluxe rooms, on the other hand, use a bunk-bed-style setup. That’s the one we booked — an Inside non-Deluxe stateroom — because it was the cheapest option available.

Concierge Staterooms & Suites

The most premium tier, with several rooms themed after Disney and Pixar stories like Aladdin, Frozen, Moana, and The Little Mermaid, plus Marvel-themed options. Concierge guests get priority check-in and boarding, access to an exclusive lounge, and dedicated staff assistance throughout the cruise.

Most staterooms can accommodate up to four guests. While it’s definitely most comfortable for two people, the cost per person is much lower if you’re traveling as a group of four instead of just two.

BEFORE BOOKING A CRUISE

How much is a Disney Adventure cruise?

As with any cruise, Disney Cruise Line uses a dynamic pricing system. Pricing depends on your travel dates, cabin category, cabin occupancy, and ongoing promotions.

But before we get to the rates, let’s first take a look at Disney Cruise Line’s passenger classification:

Adults: 18 years old and above
Children: 3–17 years old (but adult rate applies to aged 13–17)
Infants: 7 months–2 years old
Newborns: NOT allowed (age 6 months and below)

So, how much does it actually cost? As of this writing, these are the lowest rates for the Disney Adventure (3-Night Cruise, Inside Stateroom):

3-NIGHT CRUISE – INSIDE STATEROOM

These are the starting rates. Some dates and other rooms are higher. And these figures are for adults.

So, P30,000 per person for a 3-night cruise? I think it’s a good deal considering the following inclusions:

Entertainment (Broadway-style shows, deck parties, movie screenings)
Access to most onboard amenities (including the rides) and themed districts

What’s not included in the cruise fare? Here are other costs you need to consider if you decide to take this cruise:

Wi-Fi packages (these run roughly USD 30–49 per day)
Gratuities, unless prepaid at booking (more on this later)

Since there are no ports of call, there’s also no need to budget separately for shore excursions — something that usually eats up a good chunk of a typical cruise budget.

Is visa required?

If you’re a Philippine passport holder, you don’t need a visa to visit Singapore.

Filipinos enjoy visa-free entry to Singapore for short stays of up to 30 days. That means you can enter Singapore before your cruise and return after your sailing without applying for a visa.

Is it senior- and PWD-friendly?

Yes. Like most modern cruise ships, the Disney Adventure was built with accessibility in mind. There are accessible rooms with wider doorways, roll-in showers, and support bars, usually closer to elevators, too. Just indicate that you need an accessible room upon booking.

With 19 decks and multiple elevator banks connecting the ship’s seven themed districts, getting around is generally manageable even for guests with mobility concerns.

But of course, it’s only based on what I observed. I haven’t tried this ship with a senior or PWD. But we will soon be sailing again on this ship with family, and my mom is a senior with mobility issues, so I’ll probably make a separate article about cruising with seniors after that trip.

WHERE TO BOOK DISNEY ADVENTURE CRUISE

You can book directly through the official Disney Cruise Line website or through an accredited travel agency. As far as I know, there are only five (5) authorized distributors of Disney cruises in the Philippines. One of them is Executive Resources Inc. (ERI), one of the biggest travel agencies in the Philippines.

Payment Terms and Options

How is the payment process?

You can pay for your cruise in full right away if you want. But in most cases, you’ll only need to pay a 10% deposit to secure your booking, as long as your sailing date is still more than 100 days away. The remaining 90% is due 100 days before your sailing date.

For example, if you’re sailing in mid-June, you’ll need to pay the balance by early March. So if you’ve already found your preferred sailing date, you don’t have to pay the full amount today. You just need to settle the remaining balance at least 100 days before departure.

Payment can be done via cash or bank transfer.

Is the 10% deposit refundable?

If your plans change, the deposit is generally refundable, although a service fee may apply.

BEFORE THE CRUISE

What to prepare before your Disney cruise?

As mentioned earlier, Philippine passport holders don’t need a visa to visit Singapore. That said, there are still a few important travel requirements you’ll need to prepare before your trip.

Travel Requirements

Passport. Valid for at least six (6) months from your travel date.
Singapore Arrival Card. Submit online within 3 days before arrival. Mandatory for all travelers. You can complete this through the official ICA website.
Credit Card/Cash. For onboard charges and incidentals.

Strongly Recommended

The following items are not required but nice to have.

Disney Cruise Line Navigator App or Website Access. Used for online check-in, dining and activity reservations, and getting around the ship. You’ll also see schedules of restaurants, attractions and character meet-and-greets. Download it before your trip for a hassle-free sailing.
Travel Insurance. In case something untoward happens, you’re protected financially. PGA Sompo TravelJoy offers coverage for cruise trips. Fish Extenders / Pixie Dusting Treats. Fish Extenders and Pixie Dusting are two Disney Cruise traditions, and they’re especially fun if you’re sailing with kids. Again, we’re new to Disney cruising ourselves, so we’re still learning. But here’s how we understand it.

Fish Extenders

The term “Fish Extender” can actually refer to two things: the hanging organizer outside your stateroom door or the gift-exchange activity itself.

It’s called a Fish Extender because most Disney ships have a decorative fish, seahorse, or other sea creature mounted beside each stateroom door. Guests hang small pocket organizers from these decorations if they want to participate in the gift exchange.

Here’s how it works.

Before your cruise, you can join a Facebook group or another online community for your specific sailing. If there’s a Fish Extender exchange, you can sign up to participate.

You’ll be assigned a list of staterooms where you’ll leave small gifts throughout the voyage. At the same time, other participants will be assigned to your stateroom, so you can also expect to come back and find little surprises waiting for you outside your door.

Typical gifts include:

Disney pins
Snacks or candies
Keychains or magnets
Personalized souvenirs
Toys for kids

It’s a great way to meet fellow cruisers, and it’s fun for kids and Disney fans. But it’s a commitment. You can expect to receive gifts because you’re also expected to give. It’s an organized exchange gifts.

If receiving gifts is important to you, especially if you’re traveling with kids, you may want to join a Fish Extender group before your cruise. Again, remember that it’s an exchange, so have to prepare small gifts for the staterooms assigned to you.

It really adds to the excitement. There’s something special about seeing kids discover little treats waiting outside their stateroom door.

Pixie Dusting

On the other hand, Pixie Dusting is, in a way, a random act of kindness. Instead of joining an organized exchange, you simply surprise other guests with little gifts.

For example:

Leave a rubber duck with a note.
Give a Cast Member a thank-you card and chocolates.
Drop a small toy into a child’s fish extender.
Hand out friendship bracelets or stickers.

You’re not committed to do anything and it’s spontaneous. But you shouldn’t expect to receive gifts in return (though you might be pixie-dusted by someone else).

As for us, someone Pixie Dusted our stateroom during the cruise, and honestly, it made us smile, too.

Pixie Dusting is all about giving without expecting anything in return. You leave a small surprise for another guest simply to brighten their day, with no exchange involved. It’s also a wonderful way to teach kids the joy of giving for the sake of giving.

In the end, it’s completely up to you. You can join a Fish Extender exchange, do a little Pixie Dusting, or even try both.

Online Check-in Process

Download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App on your phone. You can also do it on the website.
Link your reservation using your booking details.
Complete online check-in, which typically opens weeks before your sailing date. You’ll need to provide: passport scan, photo for identification, emergency contact details, and payment information.
Select your port arrival time. Like most cruise lines, Disney assigns arrival windows to manage crowding at the terminal. In our experience, the earliest was 1PM, the latest 3PM.
Confirm and save your boarding pass on the app, or print it out as backup.

Where to Stay in Singapore

Since boarding for the Disney Adventure typically begins around 4:00 PM, many guests choose to fly into Singapore a day or two early and spend some time exploring the city before their cruise.

We also don’t recommend flying in on the same day as embarkation. If your flight gets delayed or canceled, you could miss the ship. It’s much safer to arrive at least a day before your sailing.

If you want to stay close to the port, look for hotels around the Marina Bay area. You’ll have easy access to the Marina Bay Cruise Centre and be close to popular attractions like Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands.

The downside is that hotels in this area tend to be among the most expensive in Singapore. Fortunately, the cruise terminal is accessible by MRT. The nearest station isn’t right beside the port, so expect a bit of a walk, but the route is mostly covered and follows paved walkways. As long as your hotel is near an MRT station, getting to the cruise terminal should be pretty straightforward.

For this trip, we stayed at V Hotel Lavender, which sits directly above Lavender MRT Station (EW11). You literally just step out of the station and the hotel is right there. It offers convenient access to Changi Airport, many of Singapore’s top attractions, and, of course, the Marina Bay Cruise Centre.

Another reason we liked staying there is the food. There are plenty of great places to eat nearby, especially since Kampong Glam and Bugis are both within easy reach.

Room rates can start at around SGD 118.67 (about PHP 5,670) per night for a twin or double room, although prices are usually higher during peak travel seasons. We booked through Klook and paid around PHP 5,900 per night for a room for two.

What to pack?

Don’t forget to bring:

Appropriate Attire (including swimwear). Disney cruises tend to be casual by day, with a bit more dress-up encouraged for dinner at rotational restaurants and any special themed nights. Smart casual works for most dining venues. Don’t forget swimwear if you plan to use the pools or any water-play areas.
Portable Charger (Power Bank). You’ll be relying on your phone for the Navigator App throughout the cruise.
Toiletries. Toothbrush, toothpaste, and other essentials, since these usually aren’t provided. The only in-room provisions are shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Sun Protection. It can be a sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. You’ll likely spend time outdoors in Disney Imagination Garden or on the top deck.

What items are NOT ALLOWED on board?

Typically prohibited items on cruise ships include:

Illegal drugs and substances
Firearms, ammunition, and weapons (including replicas)
Flammable liquids and explosives
Sharp objects beyond a certain blade length
Items that produce heat or an open flame (candles, hot plates, irons, etc.)
Extension cords and power strips. You’ll find universal sockets, USB-A and USB-C ports in your stateroom.

ON BOARDING DAY

So, how to board the Disney Adventure cruise ship? Keep these in mind on the day of embarkation.

What terminal does Disney Adventure use in Singapore?

The Disney Adventure departs from:

The terminal offers free Wi-Fi, shops, restrooms, ATMs, and currency exchange kiosks.

How to get to Marina Bay Cruise Centre?

The nearest MRT station is Marina South Pier (NS28), within walking distance of Marina Bay Cruise Centre. It’s quite a long walk (10-15 minutes) via a sheltered, flat and paved walkway suitable for rolling luggage.

You can also book a Grab or taxi. From V Hotel Lavender, Grab fare was SGD 12 (PHP 574).

How to check in and board the ship?

Here’s the Disney Adventure check-in and boarding process:

Make sure you’ve completed online check-in via the Navigator App beforehand. This makes boarding day much smoother.
Arrive within your assigned port arrival time. In our case, boarding began at 1PM.
Drop off your check-in luggage at the designated area outside the terminal.
Find the assigned queue to enter the building. You’ll see several queues, arranged by arrival time. Just find the one you indicated when you did online check-in.
Go through security check inside the terminal.
Present your travel documents and complete final check-in at the counters.
Clear immigration checks.
Board the ship!

What to do after boarding?

Grab a bite or explore while waiting for your stateroom. Staterooms are usually ready a few hours after boarding.
Head to your stateroom once it’s ready, and look for your luggage, which should be delivered directly to your door. You’ll also find your Key to the World Card — your onboard ID, stateroom key, and payment card in one.
Attend the mandatory safety briefing. Check the Navigator App for your assigned time and muster station.
Catch the sailaway party at Disney Imagination Garden. Expect character appearances from names like Captain Mickey, Captain Minnie, Elsa, Cinderella, Tiana, and Marvel heroes like Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel.

DURING SAILING

Where to Eat on Board

Rotational Dinner Restaurants

Disney Cruise Line is known for its rotational dining concept, wherein you get assigned a themed main dining restaurant for dinner each night. So yes, different restaurant every night. But what’s great about it is that your assigned servers move with you. Meaning, even though you dine at different restos, the wait staff (main server, assistant server, and head server) remain the same, so you get a new setting daily without losing that familiar service.

There are six main dining restaurants on board that are part of rotational dining:

Hollywood Spotlight Club
Navigator’s Club
Animator’s Palate
Animator’s Table
Enchanted Summer Restaurant
Pixar Market Restaurant

If you’re on a 3-night cruise, you’ll be assigned three restaurants, one for each night. In our case, we were assigned Animator’s Table on Night 1, Enchanted Summer Restaurant on Night 2, and Hollywood Spotlight Club on Night 3.

Enchanted Summer is just OK. It’s a typical cruise dining experience. But Animator’s Table and Hollywood Spotlight Club were amazing experiences.

At the Animator’s Table, while you’re waiting for your food, you’ll be given a sheet of paper and asked to draw a character. It doesn’t have to be detailed. Even a simple stick figure will do. But if you’re feeling creative, you can definitely go all out. Then, towards the end of the meal, these characters will come to life on the screens around the restaurant. It was a cute and fun experience. Kids will go crazy over this.

Hollywood Spotlight Club is where you’ll see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck perform up close! And yes, you can grab a quick photo op with them. Emphasis on quick. It was the perfect last dinner on board, to be honest.

Now, these restaurants are assigned randomly — at least that’s what we’re told. We were also told that you can request to be assigned certain restaurants upon booking, but nothing is guaranteed because it’s subject to availability.

These rotational restaurants are included in your booking. You don’t need to pay extra for it, unless you order wine or other premium items. And yes, it’s unlimited. You can order multiple appetizers, multiple main courses, multiple desserts. It’s up to you. Sodas and juices are free of charge too. You can eat and drink to your heart’s content.

Other Complimentary Food Spots

Aside from the six rotational dining restaurants, Disney Adventure offers several complimentary quick-service restaurants where you can grab breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snacks without an additional charge:

Gramma Tala’s Kitchen. Pacific Islands and Asian-inspired dishes.
Mowgli’s Eatery. Indian cuisine, including vegetarian options.
Stitch’s Ohana Grill. Burgers, sandwiches, and other grilled favorites.
Pizza Planet. Freshly made pizza by the slice or whole pies.
Cosmic Kebabs. Kebabs and wraps.
Dory’s Forget-Me-Knots. Soft-serve ice cream and other frozen treats.
Wheezy’s Freezies. Complimentary soft-serve ice cream, with specialty frozen beverages available for purchase.

Notes:

Enchanted Summer Restaurant and Pixar Market Restaurant, while part of the rotational dining lineup for dinner, also serve as buffet-style venues for breakfast and lunch. We also got to have lunch at Navigator’s Club. So even if they aren’t assigned to you for dinner, you can still experience them during the day.

24-hour room service is also included in your cruise fare (with the exception of a few specialty items and gratuities).

Palo Trattoria. Italian fine dining (specialty, additional charge, adults-only).
Mike & Sulley’s Flavors of Asia. Pan-Asian specialty dining.
Taverna Portorosso. Mediterranean-inspired dining themed after Luca.
Bewitching Boba and Brews. Casual boba and drinks spot.
Bars and lounges

Note: Room service is available, though note there’s typically a service fee.

How’s the food?

Like most cruises, the food on Disney Adventure is a mixed bag. Some dishes impressed us right away, while others, particularly a few of the appetizers and small plates, didn’t quite hit the mark.

But when it came to the main courses, there were some real standouts. The steaks rarely disappointed, and dessert was consistently excellent, especially the pudding.

Overall, while not every dish was memorable, there were enough standout meals. We still prefer the food by Royal Caribbean, to be honest.

Things to Do on Board

Seven Themed Districts

The Disney Adventure is organized into seven themed districts spread across Decks 6–19, rather than a traditional single atrium layout:

Disney Imagination Garden. The heart of the ship and its main outdoor gathering space, featuring a storybook castle, lush gardens, and an open-air stage. It’s where you’ll find the sailaway party, character appearances, and several of the ship’s biggest entertainment offerings, including Avengers Assemble.
Town Square. Inspired by the charming streets seen in classic Disney films, this elegant district is lined with shops, cafés, lounges, and character meet-and-greet locations. It’s a great place to stroll, shop for souvenirs, or simply soak in the Disney atmosphere.
Disney Discovery Reef. A vibrant open-air area themed after beloved underwater Disney and Pixar stories. It features family pools, splash areas, casual dining, and relaxing spaces where guests can cool off or unwind between activities.
San Fransokyo Street. Inspired by the futuristic city from Big Hero 6, this lively entertainment district is filled with themed shops, interactive activities, arcades, and dining venues. It comes alive at night with colorful lights and a bustling city vibe. You’ll also find Baymax Cinemas here where you can watch old and new movies.
Wayfinder Bay. A Moana-inspired outdoor retreat overlooking the sea. During the day, it’s a family-friendly water play area with pools and splash features, while at certain times it transforms into a venue for live entertainment and interactive activities.
Toy Story Place. A colorful play zone where guests are “shrunk” to the size of Andy’s toys. Designed especially for families with young children, it features themed pools, splash areas, water slides, and larger-than-life Toy Story characters.
Marvel Landing. The ultimate destination for Marvel fans and thrill seekers. This action-packed zone is home to the Ironcycle Test Run, an 820-foot Iron Man-themed roller coaster and the first attraction of its kind at sea. It also features additional Marvel-inspired rides and experiences, making it one of the ship’s biggest highlights.

Events and Shows

Other highlights include deck parties, karaoke, a spa and gym, and a variety of lounges and nightclubs for adults.

But if you’re trying to prioritize because there are just so many things happening throughout the day, don’t miss these three shows in particular.

Avengers Assemble! This action-packed stunt show brings together some of Marvel’s biggest heroes for an epic battle complete with fight choreography, special effects, and plenty of superhero moments. If you’re a Marvel fan, this one’s a must. Location: Disney Imagination Garden
Remember. This is the ship’s signature Broadway-style production, featuring stunning sets, impressive visual effects, and performances that celebrate Disney’s timeless stories and music. It’s the kind of show you’d expect from Disney — emotional, and spectacular. Location: Walt Disney Theatre
The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky. Held at the open-air top deck. This nighttime spectacular combines live performances, projections, fountains, drones, lasers, and fireworks to retell the story of The Lion King. It’s a breathtaking way to end the evening.

If you’re traveling with kids or teens, Disney Adventure is packed with age-specific experiences beyond the pools and shows.

Babies & Toddlers

Age: 6 months to 3 years old

“it’s a small world” Nursery. Supervised childcare with trained counselors (additional fee).
Mickey & Minnie Captain’s Deck. A nautical-themed indoor play area designed for little cruisers.

Kids

Age: 3 to 10 years old

The highlight is Disney’s Oceaneer Club, one of the most impressive kids’ clubs at sea. It features several themed zones, including:

Marvel WEB Workshop. Superhero training with Spider-Man-inspired tech.
Andy’s Toy Box. A Toy Story-themed playground complete with a Slinky Dog slide.
Fairytale Hall. Princess-themed storytelling, games, and occasional character visits.
Walt Disney Imagineering Lab. Kids can design their own roller coaster and virtually “ride” it.

Tweens

Age: 11 to 14 years old

Edge. A dedicated hangout disguised as a shop on San Fransokyo Street. It’s designed like a trendy café where tweens can play video games, make crafts, watch movies, and make new friends under the supervision of Disney counselors.

Teens

Age: 14 to 17 years old

Vibe. An exclusive teen lounge inspired by a vintage record store. Teens can relax, socialize, play games, watch movies, and participate in organized activities without parents tagging along.

Family Attractions Older Kids & Teens Will Love

There are plenty of attractions that appeal to older kids:

Marvel Landing. Home to Ironcycle Test Run, Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever roller coaster and the longest roller coaster at sea, plus Pym Quantum Racers and Groot Galaxy Spin.
Big Hero Arcade. Featuring video games and interactive experiences. Location: San Fransokyo Street
Baymax Cinemas. For Disney movie screenings.
Toy Story Place. With water slides, splash zones, family pools, and jumbo screens showing Disney films.

Internet Connection on Board

As of our sailing, the internet rate for one (1) device was:

Internet (Regular):
USD 26 (P1604) per day
Internet + Streaming:
USD 42 (P2590) per day

The regular internet option will allow you to browse the web, send or receive emails, access social media and messaging apps, as well as use voice and video calls (WhatsApp, Facetime, Zoom).

But the Internet + Streaming option, on top of everything covered by the regular package, will allow you to access streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, and Spotify. Connection is also faster.

But they also offer package rates for the entire voyage. For example, we only paid USD 66 (P4070) for the entire 3-night cruise (without streaming). Not sure if this price has increased.

Note: Again, this is just for one (1) device at a time. If you have multiple devices, you’ll need to log out one device first to connect a new device.

You can purchase internet packages using the Disney Navigator app.

How fast is the internet? I ran a couple of speed tests on board. One recorded 3.76 Mbps, while the other came in at 2.75. It’s not particularly fast, but it’s good enough for basic browsing.

CHECKING OUT & DISEMBARKATION

What to do on your last full day on board?

Pack your bags and leave them outside your stateroom door on the last night. Check the deadline (usually it’a 10 PM the night before disembarkation). You’ll be given luggage tags with a Disney character. In our case, we were assigned Aladdin. (And I was especially happy because he is my favorite Disney character!)
Settle any onboard charges. Most of these will already be linked to your Key to the World card. If you linked a credit card to your account, no need to do anything. It will be settled automatically, unless they encounter issues. If cash, then you’ll need to settle this manually before 7AM on debarkation day.
Accomplish another Singapore Arrival Card. Because technically, you’ll be re-entering Singapore, you’ll have to submit another SG arrival card.

Is tipping mandatory?

Gratuities are the service charges or tips that go to crew members who take care of you throughout your voyage:

USD 16 per adult per night for standard staterooms
USD 27.25 per adult per night for concierge guests

On Disney Cruise Line, these typically cover:

Main Server
Assistant Server
Head Server
Stateroom Host/Hostess (Housekeeping)

These crew members provide personalized service throughout your cruise, so gratuities are a way of recognizing their work.

There are generally two ways to pay:

Prepay them before your cruise.
Have them automatically charged to your onboard account at the end of the sailing.

You can also adjust the amount or give extra cash if you feel someone went above and beyond.

In the same way, you can also have them waived, although it’s generally frowned upon unless you believe you got terrible service.

On other cruise ships, we’ve encountered cruisers who chose to have it waived, and then they tipped the staff directly.

Regardless, here on Disney Adventure, tip vouchers and envelopes will be distributed and left in your room. You just need to place the vouchers in the envelope and leave them in your room before disembarkation. You can add more if you think they deserve more.

How to disembark?

Proceed to the designated disembarkation area per your assigned time slot. It’s done by batch, depending on the assigned character. So in our case, Alladin, we had to wait until they announced that Alladin-guests could disembark.
Present your Key to the World Card and passport at the gangway.
Collect your luggage at the terminal baggage claim. The bags are grouped together by Disney character assignment.

Disembarkation happens in the morning. We were told, as early as 6:00 AM. But our batch was called past 9:00 AM.

Luggage Deposit & Delivery After the Cruise

But what if your flight back home is scheduled at night? What if you still want to explore Singapore that day? What are you going to do with your luggage?

If you have several hours to spare after disembarking and don’t want to drag your luggage around the city, consider using LuggMe. You’ll find their booth at the Arrival Hall of the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, just below the escalators.

They offer convenient luggage storage and delivery services in Singapore, so you can explore, shop, or enjoy a few more attractions before your flight without being weighed down by your bags. Simply drop off your luggage at one of their storage points or arrange for it to be delivered to the airport, making the most of your last day in Singapore.

In our case, our flight was late at night so we explored Singapore after the cruise. We had our bags delivered to Changi Airport four hours before our flight departure time.

We just picked it up at their LuggMe branch at the airport. You’ll be notified throughout the day of the status of the delivery. You’ll get a message when it arrives at the airport and becomes ready for pickup.

Suppose you’re booking a 3-night Disney Adventure cruise, traveling as a group of four (4) and staying in an Inside stateroom.

Assuming you will be flying in on the same day of embarkation and flying out on the same day of disembarkation, you won’t need to book a hotel in Singapore. And since I’m flying from Manila, I’m including airfare in this computation and Philippine travel tax. Just remove them or make adjustments if they don’t apply to you.

This is the minimum amount you should expect to make. With the exception of the internet expenses, you’ll need to pay for these items. But these are estimates too. Your actual cost will vary depending on your cabin category, travel dates, and any promotions running at the time of booking, and your spending habits.

I don’t know where you plan to go or explore after the cruise, so just add the cost of those attractions to this computation.

Actually, we spent less on board because we received a 50-dollar onboard credits during our sailing. Not sure why, maybe because there were some hiccups during our voyage. I’m not sure.

IS IT WORTH IT?

In all honesty, YES, it is worth it for us. But not gonna lie, there were a few moments when we felt disappointed. We weren’t disappointed that there wasn’t any port of call because we knew it even before we booked. But you have to remember that it was only the ship’s second official sailing from Singapore, and it felt like they weren’t 100% ready.

First, if you watched our Disney Cruise itinerary vlog, the most obvious was the IronCycle Test Run. It is the longest rollercoaster at sea, so we were really excited to try it only for it to NOT be operational during our voyage. And I didn’t like how they went about communicating it. We asked the reception repeatedly and they said to check the app for the schedule, etc. But then in the end, we finally asked the staff, we were told it was never gonna open during our voyage to begin with because of technical issues. That’s fine because it was for safety, but I hope they communicated it better.

We were also mistakenly marked as having missed the mandatory safety drill, even though we attended it and our Key to the World cards were scanned. We even filmed parts of the drill, so we had proof that we were there.

The app also felt a bit clunky during our sailing. Some of the information didn’t match what was actually happening onboard. Certain attractions would randomly appear and disappear in the app. Some shows encouraged advance reservations, but in reality, seating was simply first come, first served.

Then there was Remember, one of the productions we were most excited to see. Unfortunately, the show ran into technical difficulties — twice. It had to stop in the middle of the performance on two separate occasions.

To be fair, we were on only the ship’s second sailing, so the crew was probably still working through some early operational issues. No voyage is ever perfect, and unexpected things do happen. But if you paid full price for your cruise, it’s understandable to feel like you didn’t quite get the complete experience.

That said, I still think the Disney Adventure is worth it.

There’s just so much to do onboard that we often didn’t make it back to our stateroom until one or even two in the morning. We enjoyed it so much that we’re already planning another sailing — this time with our family.

And I think my mom and our older relatives will love it. They’re not really after the ports of call anyway. In fact, even on our previous cruises that did stop at different destinations, they often preferred staying onboard. For them, the ship is the vacation.

And if you’re a Disney fan, this place is pure nostalgia. It feels like a floating Disneyland combined with a Disney hotel. If you’re traveling with kids, I can only imagine how magical the experience would be for them.

Personally, we still prefer Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, or even Spectrum of the Seas. As adults, those ships simply offer more of the experiences we enjoy.

But even with that comparison and all its shortcomings, I can confidently say this:

The Disney Adventure is absolutely worth it.
