Now that travel restrictions are gradually being eased and destinations are opening to tourists, it is important to know and follow the protocols set by the government if you plan on going on a trip. Among the things you have to consider is the place to stay.
In accordance with the Department of Tourism (DOT) Administrative Order No. 2020-002, accommodation establishments must have a Certificate of Authority to Operate (CAO). This is to ensure that they comply with the guidelines provided for the operation of tourism facilities for the health and safety of both guests and staff.
La Union has opened tourism for visitors from Region 1 and Baguio City last October as part of the Ridge to Reef Corridor plan. This tourism recovery project allows tourists from Pangasinan, La Union, Illocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, and Baguio City to visit provinces within the region. Part of the guidelines and requirements that tourists shall provide to be allowed entry is a confirmed booking at an registered accommodation.
Below is the list of hotels and resorts in La Union with a CAO and Provisional CAO. Authorized tourist inns, guest houses, bed and breakfasts, and hostels, also known as Mabuhay Accommodations, are not included in this list, as we plan to make a separate post for them.
