After the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill, more establishments and destinations are slowly getting back on their feet. However, certain regulations remain in place, including those for the operations of hotels and other lodging establishments.

Following the Administrative Order No. 2020-002 of the Department of Tourism (DOT), accommodation establishments are required to secure a Certificate of Authority to Operate (CAO). This administrative order also provides guidelines for their operation and health and safety protocols for the “new normal”.
