Noodles have become an integral part of many Asian cultures. From Chinese noodles to Japan’s ramen to Vietnam’s pho to Thailand’s pad thai to the Philippines’ pansit, noodles make up some of Asia’s most popular comfort food.

Noodles have been around for almost two millennia, giving birth to countless varieties and dishes. But nothing has revolutionized it the way the Japanese did when they introduced instant noodles. Instant noodles were invented by Momofuku Ando in 1958 to create a version with a much longer shelf life. Since then, instant noodles have taken over the world. Admit it or not, it has become a staple, especially of those in a hurry or on a budget. Instant noodles are cheaper and easier to prepare — boil the noodles or add hot water, put in the seasoning, and voila! You have your meal!

But if you want to upgrade your instant noodle game, here are some recipes we found on YouTube that add oomph to your quick favorite. Note: You may replace other brands used in the videos with the brands that are available in your area.
