Baguio is one of the first destinations in the Philippines to open to tourists after months of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, it was only open for tourists from the Ilocos Region, but it was recently announced that visitors from entire Luzon are now welcome provided that they comply with the protocols of the local government.

The list of requirements includes providing a COVID-19 negative test result and signing up for a Baguio Visita account, an online registration portal where you can schedule your visit and submit the documents required to be allowed entry.

Although staying in a relative’s or a friend’s house in Baguio is now permitted, booking an accommodation is still recommended. As mandated by the Department of Tourism (DOT), accommodation establishments are required to secure a Certificate of Authority to Operate (CAO) prior to resuming operations.

If you are planning a visit to the City of Pines, here is the list of hotels with CAO and provisional CAO from the Department of Tourism. This list covers only establishments classified as hotels and excludes Mabuhay Accommodations such as tourist inns, pension houses, and hostels. We’ll create a separate post for those.

Again, friendly reminder: Make sure that you check Baguio City’s complete updated guidelines for tourists prior to making your trip. You may also contact your chosen accommodation before booking your stay to know their protocols as they may have their own rules apart from what is mandated by the government.
