Philippine Airlines has compiled and published a list of hotels that have been inspected and authorized by the Department of Health (DOH) to accommodate Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs).

The Mactan Cebu International Airport (CEB) is a major hub for the country’s flag carrier, which resumed operations of flights to and from Cebu earlier this month. In addition, selected flights that are originally meant to land in Manila have been and might be diverted to Cebu due to “limited COVID testing slots in Manila.”

Whether your final destination is Cebu or your flight had been diverted, you need to book a hotel room in Cebu prior to flight departure. Ideally, make a reservation for at least two nights because the usual processing time of COVID-19 tests is 24 to 48 hours. You will be asked to present a copy of confirmed hotel reservation upon flight check-in.

PAL encourages their passengers to book a hotel close to the airport in Lapu Lapu City, as Cebu City is still on Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). Also provided are the addresses and websites.

Important Reminders

For Manila-bound flights that have been diverted to Cebu, passengers will be required to undergo a COVID-19 test and hotel quarantine in Cebu. If the test result is negative, PAL will be arranging the transfer of passengers to Manila at no extra cost. To check if your flight will be diverted to Cebu, check out PAL’s official Facebook page.
Passengers must shoulder the cost of the test and hotel accommodation. This does not apply to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Mactan Cebu International Airport is located in Mactan Island, which is currently under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) status. Only Cebu City is under the stricter Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) status.
